Fox 29 Live: How Fitman Turned Fitness Into A Career

Back in 2009, I never imagined that a side hustle as a personal trainer would one day put me on Fox 29. And alongside my beautiful wife and wonderful mother on live TV.

When I began my career as a personal trainer back in 2009, I did not expect to be in the fitness game long-term. Personal training to me at that time was a side hustle, and I didn’t think it would turn into a career.

I had just earned my barber’s license in Pennsylvania. I thought I was going to open a barbershop. But here we are 15 years later, and I got featured on local television.

Fox 29 Workout Wednesday

My wife, my mother, and I were on Fox 29 Live this past summer for the Workout & Wellness Wednesday segment. We walked onto that set with the goal of showing Philadelphia the value of health and fitness.

You might be wondering how this opportunity came to be. Last year, my wife, the incomparable Shekhinah B., made her national TV debut. She was promoting her phenomenal Juneteenth Wine & Arts Festival on Fox 29. She invited me to join her in the promotion of her second annual JWAF this year a few weeks ago. At that time, she introduced me to some of the wonderful anchors, crew members, and team at Fox 29.

After those talks with Fox 29, an opportunity arose. They invited me to return for this segment. I owe a great debt of gratitude to Shekhinah B. for connecting me with the right people at Fox. We have succeeded together far more than before we met. It’s because we support each other 100 percent. We’re always striving to unleash our inner greatness.

I did not think that I would eventually appear on Fox 29 with the woman who gave me life and my wife. It shows that anything is possible. Keep putting in a consistent, quality effort over time. I’m not special, but I am consistent.

Whether I’m behind the chair or in the gym, one thing remains the same: I show up with purpose and passion.

Conclusion

The camera was rolling. But the real spotlight was on the power of consistency. Those who continue to show up will eventually win.

I’ll holla at you soon.
