It’s time for Matters of Fitness 2.

You train hard. You want results. But without knowing how much you’re eating you’re going nowhere fast.

Many people in the fitness game have a physique goal they would like to reach. But if your diet is not in order, your goals will remain out of your reach forever.

Matters of Fitness 2: How Important Is Knowing How Much Food To Eat?

Eating the right amount of food is the key to transforming your body.

How can you build your dream body if you do not know how much to eat? Many lifters are under the illusion that they can outwork a bad diet. The work it would take to out-train a bad diet is superhuman. And the last time I checked, every person on this planet is only human.

I talk to lifters. Many of them talk about getting leaner or bigger. But when I ask them about their caloric intake, I get a blank stare or a generic, hollow answer like “I eat good.” Meanwhile, that lifter is nowhere near as lean or as muscular as they could be. They actually have not gained any muscle since the first season of my favorite TV show 24.

If you are stuck on your journey to lose body fat or build more muscle, it’s time to take a hard look at your diet. If you are eating too much food, you will get fat. And if you are not eating enough, you will not be building much muscle and strength.

So, how do you figure out how much you’re eating? Start by using a food scale and a tracking app like MyFitnessPal. These tools make it easier than ever to track what you eat. This gives you a massive advantage that past lifters didn’t have.

Decades ago, lifters built elite physiques without these tools. But why make it harder than it needs to be? Today, in the 21st century, you have the advantage of modern technology. Tracking your food is the cheat code to making real gains.

It’s still possible to make gains without these tools. But why waste time when you can know for sure? Tracking your food intake with precision is the most effective way to ensure you’re on the right path.

Once you begin to track your foods for 7 days, you will know exactly how much you currently eat. Now, when you’re eating out, don’t sweat tracking every bite. If you didn’t cook it, you don’t know exactly what’s in it. But that’s not an excuse to go off the rails. Tracking at home helps you understand your body’s needs.

And let’s be real. Tracking your food isn’t hard. You know what’s hard? Struggling in the gym with no results. You know what else is hard? Wasting years playing a guessing game instead of knowing. If you want to build your best body, step up and do what it takes.

Eating high-quality food is important. But eating the correct amounts of food is the key to losing body fat or building muscle.

Conclusion

If you don’t control how much you eat, you’ll never control how you look.

I’ll holla at you next time.
