I joined WURD Radio in Philadelphia on 10/31/2025, for a great chat about discipline. We talked about staying consistent with health and fitness.
I spoke with Karen Taylor Bass, the host of Soulful Sunrise. We discussed work ethic, mindset, and the key role of discipline. It’s always great to share the truth on how discipline shapes success in both fitness and life. Big thanks to WURD for having me back!
Discipline Is The Key
Motivation will get you started on your journey.
You might be motivated by someone who you saw was in great shape. Watching another athlete excel in your sport can inspire you to improve. You also might be motivated because it’s New Year’s Day.
Motivation is a good tool to get the process started. But the reality of the situation is different.
Motivation will get you out of the starting blocks. But motivation alone will not allow you to cross the finish line. Only discipline can give you the drive to keep moving towards your goal and allow you to cross the finish line. Motivation starts the race, but discipline finishes it.
Your results don’t care if it’s hot or cold outside. Your results don’t care if the Eagles or Sixers game is on. And your results definitely don’t care if it’s Friday night and most people are at the bar. To get the results you said you wanted, you need to be at the bar. But I’m talking about the bar in the squat rack.
Do you want the results that you said you wanted? Or do you want those results to remain far away like a vacation halfway across the world? To reach your goal, discipline is necessary.
The Last Rep
You don’t have to be perfect because no one is. But you do need to prioritize your goals, or they will never become your reality.
Discipline turns dreams into results.
I’ll holla at you next time.
