What are the top bodyweight exercises?
Bodyweight training is the oldest form of training known to mankind. P90X and Insanity have popularized this style of training, but the truth is that nothing in fitness is new.Bodyweight training is ancient like the pyramids in Egypt.
Before there were barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, and other training tools, we had only our bodies. And with our bodies, we had the ability to run, jump, and lunge. We also had the ability to perform movements like squats, push-ups, and planks. The great thing about these movements is that they require no equipment.
If you are vacationing somewhere, and the fitness facility is filled with subpar tools or all machines, you can easily use a bodyweight training circuit to get an intense and effective training session completed.
I like to use bodyweight training after I am finished lifting.
This post-lifting conditioning really attacks your fat stores and improves your fitness level. Lifting weights uses glycogen as the primary fuel source. When you have used up the glycogen during your lifting session and follow it with a short, but intense bout of conditioning, you will begin to truly see that fat disappear without sacrificing your hard earned muscle.
Think of the time you will save by doing this. Would you rather look like a zombie from Resident Evil on the treadmill or elliptical for 1 hour plus or would you rather enhance your fitness level tremendously while burning fat in less than a half-hour?
The choice is yours. Choose correctly!
