Today I want to talk about an email I received from a young woman.
She told me that was struggling during her workouts and when things would get tough during the workout she would quit and go home.
What she is describing is not uncommon in training. Not. One. Bit.
Many folks claim to “workout hard.”
Many folks claim they are on “beastmode.”
Many folks claim to be “superfit.”
I will tell you this. I train some folks who fall in those categories from above and I commend them highly on their hard work.
But when you claim those titles and all you do is use the machines, wear waist trainers, quit hard workouts, and take excessive gym selfies, then you are a stone cold fraud!
The issue at hand has nothing to do with the physical body. It has everything to do with the mental mindset.
When your mind is weak, your body will also be weak.
When your mind has doubt, your body will have doubt too.
When your mind quits, your body will quit too.
I have been there many times. I have been there when the workout is beating you down and taking your pride. I am guaranteed to be there again.
This is where being mentally tough comes into play.
If you are mentally tough, you will find a way to finish. For this person there are no limits to what they can achieve in life.
If you are mentally weak you will find an excuse and look for ways out. For this person, the road to success will be a never-ending trek to oblivion.
You can become mentally tough by consistently challenging yourself. Over time your confidence will grow as you continue to jump over the hurdles in front you.
Don’t let a weak mind stop you from unleashing your inner greatness.
Accept challenges. You may win or you may lose. But either way, you will always learn something that can be applied later in life.
I’ll holla at you next time.
